Abstract The depositional environment of Gumai formation is still challenging to be studied. Previous studies the in Formation show a debate interpretation transition, shallow marine, and deep marine environment. study's objectives are identify lithology characteristics Baturaja region determine potential Formation. Miocene clastic sedimentary rocks well-preserved features Simpang Muara Dua, South Sumatra. discovered southern anticline flange, particularly composes marl with quartz veins. opposite flange northern part indicates consists siltstone, calcareous sandstone, sandstone sand ball siltstone layers. Based on obtained data at Dua Simpang, Tertiary situated folded Pre-Tertiary Garba complex. research area was deposited transition sea which has shallower than region.
